HEART MIND BODY SOUL SPIRIT
The term Holistic is the idea that the parts of something are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole. The heart, mind, soul, body and spirit are not separate entities but integral parts of a unified whole person, made in the image of God. The following is an attempt to simplify and define the extremely complex.
(Definitions are compiled from Hebrew & Greek Lexicons/Word Studies as they are referenced in the Old and New Testament.)

HEART
The inner self of will, intentions, desires, and moral center.
SPIRIT
MIND
Revitalized and reborn through Christ; how we commune with God.
BODY
The physical place where the parts dwell. The temple of the Holy Spirit
SOUL
The living being which includes emotions.
The distinct identity, individual personality & psyche (“psychology”).
The thought life, intellect, critical thinking, understanding, and thorough reasoning.
The Parts of Wholeness
The heart, mind, soul, body, & spirit are intricately woven together. Scripture speaks to this when it describes how the parts of a person are impacted by sin & brokenness. Subsequently these parts are also the recipient of God's healing power & restoration.

Psychology & science are beginning to acknowledge the interconnected nature of a person. Dr. Gabor Mate says "the mind and body are inseparable... the emotional apparatus in the brain...the immune system... the hormonal system & the nervous system are not even separate systems that are connected, they are one unit. Different manifestations of the same unit."
"Manifestations of the same unit." This is vitaly important in recognizing how people, circumstances, thoughts, and events can impact a person. Our emotional experiences can have physical effects. Our physical health can impact our mental and spirtual life. We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139)
God alone knows the intricate connections and pathway to each woman's healing.​​ In Him we are seen, understood, healed, restored, redeemed and whole.
