HEART MIND BODY SOUL SPIRIT

An Integrative Therapeutic Approach that Applies the Truth of Scripture
Counseling
Women
As we trust God with our hurt and pain, we not only find healing...we find HIM.

"He (God the Father) has sent Me (Jesus Christ) to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...to comfort all who mourn...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." -Isaiah 61:1-3

The Way
To Wholeness
Jesus said to them, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." -John 14:6

The Path
Women deal with a myriad of difficult and sensitive issues. The impact of abuse (various types), trauma, physical illness, relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, financial stress, & spiritual stagnation are unique to each woman. The healing journey is a personal endeavor so the path may look different, no matter how similar the experiences and circumstances. Yet, the purpose and destination of the path is the same...to know God's healing and restoration, to love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love others as yourself. Our relationship and trust in God is the driving force that paves a personalized path forward. God's Word is the light that illuminates the way while the Holy Spirit guides and directs the steps to wholeness.

The counseling provided is based on a Biblical worldview while using an Integrative Therapy approach.
The term "Biblical worldview" describes an interpretation of the world based on the revealed Truth of Scripture. The way to understand humanity is to go to the Creator. We were created to know God the Father, through His Son Jesus Christ, and to be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Therapeutic education, personal experience, faith, Scripture, prayer & the Holy Spirit are the core elements for counseling so that sessions are tailored to meet each client's specific needs.

The Steps

Holistic
Healing
The Holistic Approach aims to address the whole person, considering the mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In integrative therapy, you aren't defined by your symptoms. Rather, symptoms are merely evidence of underlying pain, sin, or imbalance. Thoughts and emotions are God-given, we need to appreciate, identify, and recognize they are vital instruments to navigate our way into a deeper intimacy with God and others. Integrative therapy is an approach that combines elements from various schools of psychotherapy, tailoring treatment by drawing on techniques from different models and existential therapies.

Christian Principles

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
 Isaiah 41:10

Faith & Healing
Scripture describes how faith & healing can be intertwined. I have studied this for years because of my own health issues. My conclusion is best summarized from a quote by Ann Spangler, “While Jesus emphasized the importance of faith in the healing process the Gospels do not support the teaching that a lack of healing always indicates a lack of faith. And though the New Testament sometimes directly links individual sin with sickness, it does not presume that every sickness is caused by individual sin.” Illness is the result of living in a fallen world.

Healing can take many forms. It can be instant & miraculous. It can also take time & require perseverance. It may include a variety of therapies and treatments. Repentance & humility opens a pathway for the Lord to work in and through us. That in itself is restoring.
Grasping the truth that healing ultimately originates from the Lord, shifts a person’s focus from the problem to the Healer. We must never put more faith in getting a desired outcome above our faith in the character & love of God.

We will always face struggles, pain, and affliction. Jesus told us we would. (John 16:33) Our focus should be what the Lord's will & purpose is in the midst of those trials. When we do that, we won't just find answers to our problems, we will experience abundant life.
